ITINERARY

Expand All

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (approx. 1.5 hours), the starting point of the trek. From Nayapul, you will start trekking through charming villages and terraced fields, following the banks of the Modi River. As you continue, the trail gradually ascends through lush forests and along stone-paved paths. After approximately 5 to 6 hours of trekking, you will reach Ulleri, a picturesque village perched at an altitude of 1,900 meters. From Ulleri, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the peaceful atmosphere of the village, perfect for relaxing and preparing for the next day’s journey.

Today’s trek is a bit more challenging, as you ascend steadily from Ulleri towards Ghorepani. The path takes you through dense rhododendron and oak forests, which are particularly vibrant in spring when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. As you continue your climb, the air becomes cooler, and you’ll be treated to increasingly spectacular views of the surrounding mountain ranges. After 5 to 6 hours of trekking, you will reach Ghorepani (2,860 meters), a scenic village renowned for its panoramic mountain views. Ghorepani offers a great chance to relax and prepare for the next day’s early morning hike to Poon Hill.

On the final day, you’ll rise early to begin your hike to Poon Hill for an unforgettable sunrise view. The 45-minute ascent to the top of Poon Hill (3,210 meters) is well worth it, as it offers a 360-degree view of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges. Witness the first rays of sunlight hitting the snow-capped peaks, casting them in golden light—one of the most stunning sights in Nepal. After soaking in the view, you’ll return to Ghorepani for breakfast before starting your descent. The trek down takes you through Tadapani and other small villages before reaching Nayapul. From Nayapul, you’ll drive back to Pokhara in approximately 1.5-2 hours, marking the end of your incredible trek.

From Start to Summit – Exceptional Support from Suman Sherpa

I had read about how difficult the Everest Three Pass Trek is, but I was still caught off guard by how demanding it was. That said, I wouldn’t change a single thing, especially because we had Suman Sherpa from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking leading the way. Suman is one of the kindest and most organized people I’ve ever met. He was meticulous in planning, but also incredibly adaptable—adjusting our rest stops and daily pace as we went. What I loved most was how he fostered a strong group dynamic. We all felt like we were in it together. Crossing the Kongma La Pass was my favorite part. The high-altitude stillness and raw views made me feel completely present. Suman made that moment even more special by surprising us with chocolate and tea at the top! From the cozy lodges to the acclimatization hikes, every part of this trip was well thought out. Suman was more than a guide—he was a mentor, a friend, and a mountain expert through and through. This is a trek that will test you, but with Sherpa Expedition and Suman by your side, it becomes a joy.

This was my first big trek, and honestly, I was a little nervous about altitude and the difficulty of the Three Pass route. But Sherpa Expedition & Trekking made it all feel easy, and Dawa Sherpa, our guide, was the reason why. Dawa is warm, deeply knowledgeable, and incredibly responsive. He carried medical supplies, extra snacks, and always had a positive attitude. I learned so much about the Himalayas, from glacial systems to Buddhist customs, and Dawa made sure everyone felt safe and supported every step of the way. Cho La Pass was the hardest day for me, but Dawa literally held my hand during one steep descent, and I’ll never forget that kindness. The views from Gokyo Ri and Renjo La were absolutely breathtaking—definitely bucket list moments. Highly recommend this trek, and especially with Dawa Sherpa leading the way. Sherpa Expedition was professional from start to finish.

I trained for months for the Everest Three Pass Trek, but nothing could’ve prepared me for the sheer beauty and intensity of the Himalayas. Thankfully, I had Dorjee Sherpa from Sherpa Expedition & Trekking leading our group, and that made all the difference. Dorjee is a powerhouse—strong, calm, and incredibly intuitive. He knew when to challenge us and when to let us breathe. During the Cho La Pass climb, we hit unexpected snow, and Dorjee immediately rerouted us slightly for safety without missing a beat. His professionalism was evident every day. I also appreciated the spiritual aspect he brought—visiting ancient monasteries, doing small blessing ceremonies, and teaching us about Sherpa traditions. It gave the trek an emotional and cultural depth I hadn’t expected. The views are, of course, unreal. But it was the relationships—built on the trail, in the tea houses, and during shared meals—that made this a once-in-a-lifetime trip. If you’re thinking about this trek, don’t hesitate. It’s hard. It’s long. But with someone like Dorjee Sherpa guiding you, it’s pure magic.
